What Are QC Photos?

QC stands for Quality Check. These are photos taken by your seller after they receive your item from the factory but before they ship it to you. QC photos are your only opportunity to inspect the actual product before it leaves the warehouse. Learning to read these photos effectively is one of the most valuable skills for spreadsheet shoppers.

What to Check in Every QC Photo Set

Start with the overall shape and proportions. Compare the silhouette to official retail photos. Next examine material texture, color accuracy under the provided lighting, stitching quality and thread consistency, logo placement and embroidery sharpness, hardware like zippers and buttons, interior construction and labels, and any protective packaging or accessories included. The best QC galleries include at least eight to twelve images covering all these angles.

QC Red Flags You Should Never Ignore

Blurred or strategically angled photos that hide details are a major warning sign. Significant color differences from the listing, crooked logos or misaligned patterns, loose threads, glue residue, or damaged materials, missing accessories promised in the listing, and stains or dirt marks all warrant an immediate exchange request or order cancellation. Trust your instincts. If something looks off, it probably is.

When and How to Approve

Only approve your QC photos when you are genuinely satisfied with every visible detail. Approval tells the seller to proceed with shipping. Once approved, exchanges become more difficult. If you need additional photos of specific areas, request them before making your decision. Most reputable sellers are happy to accommodate reasonable photo requests.
